Looking back on the 2023 Season

This was the first year of having an online website, and everything that comes with that - online store, more customers, etc.

It was definitely an interesting experience, and I really enjoyed it. I had a bumpy growing season, but what I was able to do with the flowers I had was amazing.

This year I focused a lot of my time on practicing hand-tied market bouquets, or gift bouquets. I definitely have the process down now, as most of the bouquets I made this year were hand-tied market bouquets.

This year I also sold quite a few jars of flowers. I set up my roadside stand, posted about it on Facebook - also a new thing for me, and even added Venmo and Cash App!

I really loved some of the combinations I used for the flowers in a jar. Especially in the spring, the flowers are just so dainty.

A few reflections on the growing season:

1. My soil is depleted of nutrients so I need to invest some time into improving my soil quality.

2. The starting seeds indoors really worked for most everything, I just need to fertilize better because everything was shorter than it should have been, again probably a result of poor soil nutrients.

3. I didn't get a huge variety of color for my zinnias, so I will be buying a mix with larger flower heads for next year.

4. I need to work on photography and editing photos, sometimes my backdrops aren't ideal!
